What are you reading currently?
I like to read several books at the same time. It’s a weird habit from childhood. Right now I’m reading The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa, Hard-boiled Wonderland and The End of The World by Haruki Murakami, and The Surveillance of Women on Reality Television by Rachel E. Dubrofsky (borrowed from brilliant artist Hannah Piper Burns).
First concert you ever attended?
Lilith Fair at Shoreline Ampitheater in Mountain View, California! I went with the boy who would become my first boyfriend, and his mom.
Favorite Halloween costume you've worn?
In 2010 I was the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull.
What's the worst job you've ever had?
In college I worked at a used RV dealership for a man named Bucky. It was a weird job, and it left me with a glut of useless knowledge of recreational vehicles.
What's the best job you've ever had?
In 2016 I did a commission that changed my relationship to light. The project was this incredible experience of love and left me in awe of our relationship to the sun.
Last person who made you smile?
Definitely my husband, engraver Anthony Roberto.
If you're in a bad mood, what never fails to cheer you up?
Quiet time, self reflection, and cats.
What's been on your mind lately?
Guilty pleasure candy?
Haribo ginger lemon. Yum.
What are you most grateful for?
In my best moments, I am grateful for the vast scope of this world and the very fact that everything that has happened has brought us to exist in this moment.
