Do you have anything you’re secretly super good at?

I feel like one thing that I’m really good at which is probably a pain for my boyfriend is that I can be really good at articulating my feelings about anything. That, and I have a really sharp memory. I can literally be like, “Do you remember on December 14th on this year when you said this?” That really freaks him out because I’m usually right…

What’s the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?

This is funny because I was actually telling some of my friends last night about my morning routine. So I went to Dubai last summer and ever since I came back my sleep schedule has been completely different. My eyes open between 5:30 and 6:00 every morning. I thought it was a really temporary thing but it’s been the case even if I sleep late, I’ll wake up at that time. That doesn’t mean I get out of bed at that time, but I usually try to. I literally don’t even set an alarm anymore. The first thing I do when I get out of bed is put water on the kettle, and then I’ll go wash my face, I won’t brush my teeth, I’ll just wash my face, very specifically, and then I’ll do hot water with lemon and honey. I try to do that almost every morning. I don’t know if it works but everyone says it does! I feel good doing it.

What’s a new song you heard lately that you liked?

OK so I love Bollywood music, and I don’t really listen to it that much but there’s this song that I’ve had on repeat called “Phone” and it’s in Punjabi which is a language that I don’t even understand, but it’s really cheesy because the singer is talking about this girl and getting her number and it’s really fun and really danc-ey.

Favorite drink to order at a bar?

Ginger beer and bourbon. I usually do Bulleit.

Do you like to cook? If so, what’s your favorite thing to cook and why?

I’m not vegetarian but my go-to is always this veggie chilaquiles casserole. It’s good and it provides dinner and lunch for like a week.

Do you have a sport you like to play? If so, what is it?

I like to dance! That’s about it. I took some Indian folk dance when I was younger and have done a bit of that on and off for events/wedding. I’m hopefully going to sign up for classical Indian dance which is something I wish I did as a kid, but never got a chance to.

What meal would you have on your deathbed?

A Shake Shack burger. It’s better than In-N-Out. I feel like In-N-Out is overhyped, but Shake Shack is heaven in your palm. When I lived in New York one morning on the 4th of July I walked almost 40 blocks at 10 a.m… by myself… just to get a Shack burger. I felt like it was a very American thing to do on the 4th of July.

Prized possession? Why?

I don’t think I have one! I can’t think of anything where if there was a fire and it was lost I couldn’t get over it eventually.

Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? Why?

I guess both. I’m definitely a blend of both. When I go home to my apartment at the end of the day I don’t want to leave again or talk to anyone. Even at work I’m not super social; I mostly do my own thing. I get tired easily because I’m older now and I’m very much a boring grandma [laughs] so I do prefer being by myself and doing things on my own terms. On the other hand, I’m really talkative and not very shy and can start a conversation with almost anyone.

What’s one thing about yourself you wish people knew?

I’m really vocal about things so I can’t imagine that there’s anything that people wouldn’t already know! I guess it’s kind of a secret that I’m terrified of certain things. I’m deathly afraid of heights. I mean, good thing I’m short, I literally can’t do a piggy-back ride. I hate not having control over my body. I’m also really afraid of water. I can barely swim - water really freaks me out. It’s not to the point where I can’t get in the water, but if anything is a little bit off I’ll very quickly get out. I feel like people just assume that everyone’s OK with those things but I’m really not. Don’t pick me up!
