Do you have any siblings?

I have two half sisters and a half brother.

What was the last thing you cooked?

I made a tasty soup which consisted of chicken broth, swiss chard, leeks, garbanzo beans, minced garlic, potatoes, and chicken. For spices I used garlic powder, crushed black pepper, turmeric, cumin, himalayan salt, and red pepper.

What's the best trip you've ever taken?

My mom took me to Puerto Rico for my 21st birthday and that was so much fun. It was extremely hot, but the island is so beautiful. Everything was perfect. The hotel felt like home. The food was delicious, and the people were so nice.

Do you like the east coast or the west coast better? Why?

I have yet to get over to the east coast. I’ve been to California, but would like to go again and really experience the Cali vibe.

Favorite singer?

At this moment, I don’t have a favorite singer, but my new obsession is a song by Kamasi Washington called Truth and a song by Mya called Ready for Whatever.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Surprisingly, I wanted to be a singer. I loved Michael Jackson and I’d watch him for hours.

Do you like to take naps?

I love to take naps! Especially now that I have a little one, but we can’t seem to take a nap at the same time. He always has a burst of energy when I’m tired and then after he gets me all excited to play he slips off into a nap, and I’m left with all this energy.

Would you rather go to an aquarium or a zoo?

So I have a love/hate relationship with this because I think it’s cruel to cage up animals, but I would still like to see them. However, I would have to take a rain check on the zoo since I haven’t been to the aquarium.

Favorite Disney movie?

The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie. I love the music and the voices. I still get very sad when Mufasa dies.

Happiest memory?

A week before my dad passed away, my mom and I were brainstorming ideas for my baby shower. One of the ideas was to have twisted animal balloons on each table. As we were sitting down at a restaurant, we decided to call my dad to ask if he could blow up some animal balloons. We thought it was so hilarious to ask because we knew that he would associate the balloons with being a clown and just have something funny to say. Anyone that knows my dad knows he always had a handful of jokes. I called him and before I could even put my words together to form a question, we both start laughing on the phone because he knew something was up. Finally, I asked if he would be willing to blow and twist up balloons for the shower and we immediately burst into tears. We couldn’t even hold a conversation because we laughed so hard that we had to end the call. It was the last time I got to hear his voice, and even though it makes me sad, I’m so happy we got to laugh before he left this world.
