Where's the most interesting place you've ever been? Why?
Can I pick two?? I’m going to.
India. My family is from India. I went there with my parents for the first time as an adult so that trip hit close to my heart. It was an intense experience to be in a place that was foreign and familiar to me at the same time. And Cappadocia, Turkey. The rocky landscape and kind people that I met blew me away.
What's your favorite way to relax?
Read a cookbook.
What are you most looking forward to in the next year?
I’m working on my next children’s book and am very excited (and crazy nervous!) to get it out in the world.
Who inspires you to be a better person?
My mom. She's the most selfless, warm, unconditionally loving person I know. And she’s so strong.
Do you have a favorite piece of art that you've seen? What is it?
Meow Wolf’s House of Eternal Return blew my mind. Experiential art and storytelling in the most amazing way.
What's the best flavor of ice cream? Why?
Mint chocolate chip. I love the combo of the fresh mint and dark chocolate.
What website do you visit most often?
I am on The Smitten Kitchen pretty often – I love to cook and get inspiration from food blogs. This one is a long time favorite.
Is there something you've done that you would never do again? Why?
Eat an avocado. Turns out I’m allergic.
Do you have a favorite smell? What is it?
Wet dirt. Maybe that’s related to why I love clay so much.
What book has impacted you the most?
I love reading so it’s hard to pick one but the most recent that hit me hard was Exit West by Mohsin Hamid. It’s beautifully written and so relevant to what’s happening in the world right now.
