Sanura Williams

Last book you read? What did you like about it?

Black Girl Magic by Mahogany L. Browne. It’s a poem that’s a quick read but it’s beautifully illustrated and her words are so affirming.

Do you read the book or watch the movie first?

Book first, of course.

What do you usually order at a bar?

Depends. If I’m taking it easy, a glass of white wine. If I want to have a good time, Hennessy & Coke (Coca-Cola), please.

Favorite breakfast food?

If you could only bring three books to a desert island, what would they be?

Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling.

Favorite Harry Potter character?

What three words would your friends use to describe you?

Tenacious. Ambitious. Loud.

Are you any good at cooking?

Good may be a stretch but I can manage in the kitchen.

Do you have any secret talents?

It’s not really a secret but I can sing, I just don’t do it often outside of the house.

What's your happiest memory?

I remember being 6 or 7, playing outside and teasing my Daddy about not being able to catch me and him running after me.
